Chris’s mom, Rev. Virginia Ericson, brought him into the Congregational Church of Jefferson Park (CCJP) at the age of 5 in 1981. Chris started Sunday school in the fall of 1981 and remained in Religious Education through his 1990 confirmation led by Pastor Mark West subsequently becoming a member of CCJP.

Chris joined the CCJP Boy Scout Troop 979 in 1988 and remained with the troop until 1994 where he attained the rank of Eagle Scout.

In July 1995, Chris left for Army Basic training and remained in the US Army for 20 Years. During his service, he held various leadership positions and was stationed in several locations including Fort Sill, Oklahoma; Bamberg, Germany; St. Petersburg, FL; Cleveland, OH. In 2012, Chris returned home to Chicago. Chris retired as a US Army Master Sergeant in June 2015. During his service period he completed his BS in Human Resource Management and MS in Human Resource Development.

While home and able to attend CCJP on a consistent basis, Chris served as a member on the diaconate board for 2 years (2013 – 2015).

In July 2015, Chris moved to Charlotte, NC where he accepted a supervisor position at the Freightliner Truck Manufacturing Plant. Chris held that role for 3 years and then transitioned into a project management role in Oct 2018.

Chris is currently active remotely and serves as Chairperson of the Technology Committee.
